Subaru Introduces the STI S210 Prototype at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2025

Tokyo, January 10, 2025 – Subaru Corporation and its motorsport
subsidiary, Subaru Tecnica International (STI)*1, participated in the Tokyo
Auto Salon 2025 exhibition held from January 10 to 12, 2025, at Makuhari Messe,
Chiba, Japan.
Subaru introduced the complete STI S210
Prototype (Japanese model) developed using technology and knowledge from the
Nürburgring 24-Hour Race. In addition, models equipped with various STI
performance parts were also showcased.
Arie Christopher, CEO of Subaru Indonesia, said,
“Subaru and STI are demonstrating their commitment to transferring technology
from the racing track to the streets by introducing the WRX STI S210 at the
Tokyo Auto Salon 2025. Subaru and STI will continue to develop the BOXER

STI S210 as a Prototype in Japan
Today, Subaru Tecnica International Inc.*1, the motorsport subsidiary of Subaru Corporation, announced the S210, an S-series model representing the pinnacle of STI Complete Cars, based on the WRX S4 STI Sport R EX.
The S210 is a direct derivative of a race car competing on one of the world’s toughest tracks, combining technology and expertise gained from the Nürburgring 24-Hour Race*2, where STI continuously faces challenges. It offers maneuverability that allows the driver to control the car at will.
The engine is based on the FA24 from the WRX S4. A newly developed air cleaner, intake ducts, and pre-turbo ducts for the intake system, along with a low-pressure exhaust system featuring newly developed large-diameter exhaust pipes and rear cannonball-shaped tailpipes, have been introduced to thoroughly reduce intake and exhaust resistance.
Additionally, with a specially tuned ECU, the car achieves a maximum output of 300 hp (development target). The engine’s linear torque response ensures output characteristics that allow drivers to press the accelerator pedal with confidence and assurance in any situation. This is the first S-series vehicle to feature Subaru Performance Transmission. By tuning the gear shift characteristics to match the engine's output, a highly controllable driving force characteristic has been achieved. The result is a highly enjoyable driving experience, where the driver’s intent is precisely conveyed to the car.
Regarding suspension, the vehicle is equipped with high-grip Michelin 255/35R19 tires, specially designed front and rear STI Flexible Performance Wheels, electronically controlled dampers and custom-tuned coil springs, and newly developed rear stabilizer bushings. For braking, Brembo 6-pot front calipers, custom brake pads, and front and rear drilled rotors are combined. Along with a specially tuned electric booster, the braking system delivers exceptional control.
In addition to parts proven in the Nürburgring 24-Hour Race, the body features aerodynamic components like newly developed STI Sport Side Garnishes and a Dry Carbon Rear Spoiler by STI to optimize airflow and achieve high handling performance.
The seats are newly developed RECARO 8-way electric seats with carbon backrests*3, providing excellent grip and comfort. The interior is predominantly black to create a focused driving environment, accented with red for a striking effect, offering a unique specification that heightens the driver's anticipation for both driving pleasure and ownership pride.
Production of the STI S210 Complete Car is limited to just 500 units. Sales details will be announced in Spring 2025.
